Sonia Tan is a lead analyst in our Shanghai Office. She focuses on developing wholesale and retail power pricing models for mainland China and analysing market, policy, and regulatory developments to help clients make smarter energy contracting and investment decisions. Sonia analyses how policy and reform in China’s power and carbon sectors impact renewable energy developers and end-users. Her client work includes assisting large C&I users with their short- to medium-term power procurement strategies and analysing long-term power cost forecasts. Sonia holds a Master of Chinese Economics and Political Affairs from UC San Diego and a BA in Politics and Economics from the University of York, UK. She is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English.
